Location
Sunset at Blue Oasis is located just outside of Onawa, Iowa. We are right in between the Loess Hills and a couple miles East of the Missouri River. Our location offers a homebase close to many outdoor activities for nature lovers (not to mention less than a 20-minute scenic drive in the Loess Hills to the voted World’s Best Cinnamon Rolls at Masters Hand Gift Shop).

How many people does a cabin sleep? A Grain Bin Cabin sleeps 4 people comfortably. The upper level has two twin trundle beds. A trundle bed is similar to a day bed with a roll out mattress underneath.
How much is a Grain Bin Cabin per night? A Grain Bin Cabin is $150 per night during the week and $175 per night during the weekend.
How do I make reservations for a cabin? You can visit www.sunsetatblueoasis.com and search the available dates you are looking for. If the cabins are not already reserved, they will show up as an option to reserve. If you need help reserving a cabin you can call 712-420-2871.
Are we able to use the amenities if we rent a cabin? Yes, you are able to use the pool and all facilities while renting a cabin.
Are pets allowed in the Cabins? Unfortunately, no pets are not allowed in the cabins.
Will I have a full kitchen in a Grain Bin Cabin? Yes, there is a full kitchen on the main level of the grain bin cabins. Each include a fridge, stove, and microwave, as well as breakfast bar with fireplace.
Outdoor Activities Near us
Swimming – One of our favorite amenities we offer at Sunset at Blue Oasis is our sports pool. The sport pool is a large sized pool ranging from 3 foot to 5 foot. It is a hit with campers young and old for some fun in the sun, our waterslide especially! Our outdoor kitchen is another perk!




Fishing – The Missouri River is located only about 6 miles from Sunset at Blue Oasis. Decatur, NE offers many riverfront fishing spots located on both Iowa and Nebraska sides of the river, as well as a few boat docks if you’re interested in putting a boat in. Don’t forget to grab lunch at Pop-N-Docs while your there! It’s a local favorite known for their great food and drinks, and their fun outdoor deck seating. This is an excellent boat dock to use as it’s located in a cove right off the river.

Boating – If you are into recreational boating, the Missouri River is also a great place to enjoy your boat.
Hiking – If you are interested in a scenic hike, the Loess hills is where it’s at. One of our favorite hotspots for hill hikes is Preparation Canyon State Park. About 15 miles in the other direction in Moorehead, Iowa. Preparation Park has many trails as well as a scenic lookout. More info at Loess Hills National Scenic Byway – Home.
If you’re looking for a closer hike, just a jaunt down the road is Lewis and Clark State Park with great trails through the trees and also a nice, paved road for biking and other recreational activities.

Summit lake and Worlds Best Cinnamon Rolls – Take a quick 15 minute scenic drive to Tekamah, NE for the “World Best” Cinnamon rolls at Master’s Hand Gift Shop and Bakery and enjoy Summit Lake.
