We have stone!! I love everything about it! I love the colors and how it changes the space entirely! We plan on over grouting the stone and going for a bit of a messy look. The fireplace insert just came today so the ball will be rolling!

Today, most of the exterior is done! We have repainted the deck as well as rerouted its entrance to the front door. I’m so glad we made this small change! It not only makes more sense, but it makes so much more of a statement!

I am loving the exterior glow up! It makes me so proud to see how far we’ve come! One change we are contemplating is to paint the brick chimney. It seems to clash now that the landscape and deck are completed. We had originally planned black siding with cedar accents, but as the project went on we decided to compliment the colors of our landscape. What do you think?

This picture gives a better idea of what it would look like if the chimney blended in rather than sticking out.

Finished Landscape

To finish up the landscape we just need grass and exterior lighting. As you can see there are set wires in the ground for some ground lights, and we have a few unique features I’m excited to show you when its finished! We are just waiting for the materials to be shipped, and it should only take about a day for them to install!!

We got our countertops put in! We were contemplating doing butchers block but something about that made me nervous! There are already a lot of wood tones in the cabin, and I was definitely nervous to pick the wrong one. White marble put my mind at ease, and I love them! Our friend Gary said he’s ready to start putting stone up! We chose a charcoal stone as the backlash in the kitchen and wrap around to the drywalled wall, where we’re putting in a built in fireplace!

They have been rocking and rolling on the siding! The exterior is coming together nicely. Our next thing to think about is what we’d like to do with the deck. We are thinking of painting the deck, but we’d like to break up the black with a different color. Zach suggested painting the deck floor a different color and I love that idea! We also got our cabinets set on the inside. They are a dark grey/blue color, beautiful! We also got plans for the landscaping!

We went with a clear stain and matte finish for the floors. I am so happy with how they turned out! That honestly was not what I had planned to do with the floors but after I saw how light and airy the sanded wood made the rooms feel, I was hooked.

Our downstairs basement has been a pickle. It is in dire need of a facelift. I actually wouldn’t consider it a bathroom yet. But we’ve come up with an awesome layout that has me super excited! It takes a bit of imagination to visualize but I’m hoping this layout will make the bathroom a light and airy space as well!

Our window and door packages have been installed! They are beautiful! As if things couldn’t get any better, a few days later our floors got sanded and we had picked a few stains to choose from!

We had started work where we could and this was the first project we were able to tackle. We built up a retaining wall that had rotted and been washed out! Zach was very proud of this project, he put a lot of work into this as well as the contractors.

The cabin also got a new black metal roof! We took pictures with the green siding today because we knew it would be changing soon, and new sliding doors would be going in!

We went back to take more pictures of the upstairs to get a better idea for a layout and to see if it were possible to move the staircase. It wasn’t!!

I got a few more pictures of the inside today! We already had so many ideas flowing; I love to take pictures to refer back to!

This was the first day we went to look at the A-frame cabin! I didn’t get many pictures that day, mostly videos to take it all in. We sure fell in love with the view and its charm.
